The George Washington High School’s football team is kicking off to a great start; their varsity team has a record of 2 wins and 1 loss. The Junior Varsity team is standing at an impressive 2-0. This weekend, they played Kennedy at All City Stadium for Kennedy’s homecoming. George started the game off strong, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter and making all their kicks. The team was looking strong going into the second half when Kennedy was able to pull through with two touchdowns. After some encouragement from the coaches, the team got back on their feet and finished the game, winning 41 – 18. The Patriots (2-1) will now have to face up against Conifer on September 19. Though the team is performing well, some players wish they could improve their relationships with the coaches. It’s early in the season, and the team still has a long way to go. If they continue to improve and play patriot football, they are sure to have a great season.
