The Kada Scott Case – Current True Crime

This month, 23-year-old Kada Scott was abducted and killed. Her remains were found in the woods by local Philadelphia police.

Scott had gone missing on the night of October 4th, two weeks prior to the police finding her body on October 18th. She was scheduled to work the night shift at the local assisted living facility. Kada was supposed to work from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, but her co-workers reported Kada left work around 10:30.

Prior to her disappearance, Kada Scott had been receiving a lot of harassment from an unknown number on her phone. After further investigation, police identified this person as 21-year-old Keon King. The relationship between Scott and King is unclear, but it is known that they were somewhat familiar with each other. Not many details on the harassment have been revealed, but Court documents filed Wednesday revealed new details, including text messages between Scott and King on the day she went missing, including Scott texting “kidnap me again,” to which the suspect allegedly replied, “better be up too.” Investigators remain unsure what these messages could reveal, but will continue to research the two’s relationship.

Kada Scott was found in the woods behind one of Philadelphia’s local middle schools. She was buried in a shallow grave, and her biopsy revealed she had been shot in the head. Investigators believe a Toyota seen on a nearby security camera was the one belonging to King. The footage reveals two people carrying a large object, which police believe was Kada Scott’s body.

Keon King has been charged with murder, robbery, theft, abuse of a corpse, and further crimes and is currently being detained with a $2.5 million bail. There has been no information on a plea from King, but his hearing is scheduled for November 3rd.

Kada Scott’s family expresses their grief for their loss and shares their gratitude to the police for paying such close attention to the case. They voice this in their statement, saying: “They are profoundly thankful to every person who shared Kada’s story, joined the search efforts, prayed with us, and stood by the family during this devastating time.”
