Lowriders

Lowriders

Low riders often have intricate designs and artwork on their exteriors, showcasing the creativity of their owners.  The hydraulics in lowriders allow them to raise or lower the car’s chassis, giving them that iconic bouncing effect.  Did you know lowriders originated in Mexican-American communities in the 1940’s? They have become a significant part of Chicano and Mexican culture, representing pride, artistry, and community. Low riders have influenced various forms of art, including music, fashion, and even movies like the classic film “American Me”. Some popular lowrider paint designs include candy paint, metal flake, pinstriping, and murals. Candy paint gives the car a vibrant, translucent color that changes depending on the lighting. Metal flake adds a sparkling effect to the paint job. Pinstriping involves thin, hand-painted lines that accentuate the car’s curves. And murals are elaborate, custom-painted designs that often tell a story or showcase cultural themes. One notable event is the”Lowrider Super Show” held in Las Vegas, where you can see some of the most incredible lowriders from all over the world.
